My trip to Mexico

What a joy it was to be on the field on my birthday! Being on the field has been my dream since the age of nine.

But I have to say I was a little lonely not knowing people on a personal level, only a few knew it was my birthday.

I was walking outside and someone came up from behind and hugged me. I turned around to see it was Leah Barnes.

She said "you look like you need a hug". She was sent from God as a little reminder that He knows me, cares for me and even sends people along the path to bless me. That was a start of a sweet friendship. She would see me throughout the week and would ask me how I was, and we would laugh at the things that happened during the day; God used her in my heart to remind me to take time to breathe, relax, even laugh. I find myself sometimes on these trips always "doing"… not simply being. I had a great trip, I mostly worked with Sports Evangelism and VBS. The young kids are my heart. I have to say my favorite game was a type of Duck- Duck Goose... I am not a competitive person but I must say it was intense. I had to beat the little ones. It is sad when an 8 year old out runs you. I don’t like it! He was my enemy all week until… I FINALY BEAT HIM!!!
